Mr Nick is a PhD student in musicology at the University of Queensland. He received his Bachelor of Music from the Queensland Conservatorium and his Masters from University of Queensland. Currently, Mr Nick teaches piano, guitar, ukulele, and theory at Harmonie Music Centre.
Mr Nick has taught piano, theory, and aural skills for more than ten years and his students have had great success in a range of exams for AMEB, ABRSM, Trinity, and Rock School. He is able to teach classical, jazz, and contemporary music, and has a great deal of performance experience in a number of local bands.
Mr Nick is currently the piano player in El Timbon and Sabor al Cafe, both of which play Cuban and Latin-American music. He has performed with international artists such as Mayito Rivera (Los Van Van), and has sung with the Brisbane Chamber Choir in their performance of the Bach B Minor Mass with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and conductor Stephen Layton. He has also presented his research at overseas conferences, for the Royal Musical Association and the New Zealand Musicological Society.
